At ROSS Leaders, we view education as the most integral part of leadership development. We utilize tutors in the form of community members and active university students. Our tutors have an array of backgrounds including Economics, International Relations, Human Affairs, Political Science, Human Development, Education, Family Science, Neuroscience, Pre-med, and Pre-law. Our tutors are actively working within their purpose to elevate the youth and our programs are influencing students to pursue their academic interests while discovering new possibilities. Tutors provide homework assistance, test preparation, study assistance, personal development, general advising, and the representation of educational power and freedom. We encourage our mentors to build deeper connections with our students and expose them to new possibilities in order to promote their ultimate potential.

exploration

For Career
After students graduate from our program, we equip them with the tools needed to conquer the challenges ahead. Whether our graduates attend secondary education or enter the workforce, we view financial literacy as a priority when preparing our students for professional life. We increase financial literacy through our Mentoring and Entrepreneurship (ME) Program. The ME Program encourages students to think critically and expand their understanding of professional opportunities. We invite entrepreneurs and professionals from various fields to share their personal work experiences with our students. In addition to the real-world experiences shared by guest speakers, our tutors also regularly hold conversations revolving around personal development and adulthood. The topics include budgeting, saving, planning, and personal investing.

For Health and
In addition to education and career programs, we promote physical and mental wellness programming as well. Without a healthy mind, body, and spirit, it is difficult to lead a fulfilled life. Our students have the option to participate in athletic programming, including basketball, tennis, soccer, and track. Through our organized basketball program, SO Elite, players can attend national camps and tournaments to compete in high-level competitions and build lifelong friendships. At ROSS, we use athletics to instill vital life lessons of competition, accountability, perseverance, teamwork, and discipline. As an organization that preaches collaboration, we use athletics as an avenue to teach our students how to succeed in collaborative and multi-faceted settings.

engagement
For Cultural
engagement
ROSS Leaders strives to provide unique and uplifting experiences not only for our students, but for our community as well. It is important for our students to understand their culture, history, and national identity.
Ways in which we do this include our OmaROSS event; An annual four-day Summer Kickoff event that entails an NCAA Student-Athlete Panel, city field trip to Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo, a series of Round Table Talks, So Elite All-Academic Camp, and a Cultural Night. For the 2021 OmaROSS weekend, ROSS Leaders officially merged with So Elite Training to host one of the largest basketball camps in the country, the So Elite All-Academic Camp. 50 skilled student-athletes traveled from around the nation and met in Omaha to participate in OmaROSS. The two-day camp consisted of skills training and competitive games for the student-athletes to showcase their skills to dozens of college coaches and scouts. This annual event is brought to life in collaboration with community partners such as Youth for Greater Good, GMoneyiam Visions, Visions2Reality, and the newly acquired SO Elite Training.
