support

At ROSS Leaders, we view education as the most integral part of leadership development. Our programs influence students to pursue their academic interests while discovering new possibilities. Utilizing tutors from Creighton University, the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and Metropolitan Community College, we offer educational programs during weekly meetings at the KANEKO. Tutors provide homework assistance, test preparation, and general advising. Additionally, we encourage our mentors to build deeper connections with our students and expose them to new horizons and opportunities to promote their ultimate potential.

For Career

After a student graduates from high school and leaves our program, we want to equip them for the challenges ahead. Whether they attend college or enter the workforce, we view financial literacy as a priority when preparing our students for adult life. We attempt to increase financial literacy through our Mentoring and Entrepreneurship (ME) program. The ME Program encourages students to think critically and expand their understanding of professional life. We invite entrepreneurs and professionals from various fields to share their personal work experiences with our students during ME. Along with the real-world experiences shared by guest speakers, tutors regularly hold conversations with students revolving around personal development and adulting. These topics include budgeting, saving, compound interest, and the overall stock market.

For Health and

In addition to education and career programs, we promote physical and mental wellness programs at ROSS. Without a healthy mind, body, and spirit, it is difficult to lead a fulfilled life. Our students have the option to participate in athletic programming, including basketball, tennis, soccer, and track. Through our organized basketball program, players can attend national camps and tournaments to compete against high-level competition and build lifelong friendships. At ROSS, we use athletics to instill vital life lessons of competition, accountability, and perseverance. As an organization that preaches collaboration, we use athletics as an avenue to teach our students how to succeed in collaborative team settings.

engagement

For Cultural

engagement

ROSS Leaders strive to provide unique and uplifting experiences not only for our students but for our community as well. It is important for our students to understand their culture, history, and where they come from. One way we do this is through our OmaROSS event. OmaROSS is a four-day Summer Kickoff event; this event was brought to life through our partnerships with Youth for Greater Good, So Elite Basketball Training, GMoneyiam Visions, and Visions2Reality. We kicked off the summer with a NCAA Student Athlete Panel, Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo field trip, Round Table Talks Series, So Elite All-Academic Camp, and a Culture Night.
